• The 2026-2027 Schedule is Ready and Registration is Open!

The 2026–2027 Fall Schedule Is HERE!

Registration is officially OPEN at Pro Dance Academy! πŸŽ‰

The wait is over! We are thrilled to officially release our 2026–2027 Fall Schedule and open registration for another incredible year at Pro Dance Academy.

This season is especially exciting because it marks the beginning of a brand-new chapter for PDA: the Legacy Journey™.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve shared the heart and purpose behind this new experience, and now you’ll begin seeing it come to life throughout our schedule.

✨ A New Way to Grow

The Legacy Journey™ replaces our traditional numbered levels with a color-based progression designed to recognize each dancer’s individual development.

    Dancers will progress through:

    Sea Glass → Ice → Teal → Ocean → Midnight → Silver → Legacy

Each color represents a stage in a dancer’s journey—not simply a number or an age.

And because every dancer develops differently, placement considers things like technique, strength, flexibility, experience, consistency, maturity, artistry, and overall readiness.

    ⭐ For Our Recreational Dancers

You do not need to wait for official placements to register.

For registration purposes, families can use our suggested age ranges as a starting point:

    • Sea Glass: Ages 2½–4
    • Ice: Ages 5–6
    • Teal: Ages 6–9
    • Ocean: Ages 9–11
    • Midnight: Ages 11–12
    • Silver: Ages 13–15
    • Legacy: Ages 15–18

These are guidelines, not final placements. Our team will review registrations and make adjustments as needed to ensure dancers are placed where they can grow and thrive.

    πŸ† Academy Is Still Academy!

Our beloved competition program isn't going anywhere. In fact, we're excited about how this new structure will strengthen it.

    Academy remains our competition program.

The Legacy Journey™ simply provides the technique progression that supports our dancers' development.

    This creates two important components:

πŸ’™ Color Classes = Build the Dancer

These classes focus on technique, skills, progressions, flexibility, strength, and individual growth.

πŸ† Choreography Classes = Build the Dance

These dedicated rehearsal classes focus on learning, cleaning, performing, and perfecting competition routines.

By separating technique training from choreography, we can protect valuable training time and give dancers the opportunity to continue developing their skills throughout the entire season.

🌟 Every Dancer Has Room to Grow

The Legacy Journey™ isn't about moving dancers "up" or "down."

It's about giving every dancer a clear and meaningful path forward.

Throughout the year, dancers will also have opportunities to earn three stars within their color as they build skills, gain confidence, demonstrate consistency, and prepare for what's next.

Because growth doesn't always happen at the same pace.

    And that's okay.

Moving quickly isn't the goal. Growing well is.

    πŸŽ‰ Registration Is NOW OPEN!

The new schedule is officially available, and we can't wait for you to start planning your dancer's 2026–2027 season.

Whether your dancer is brand new to PDA, returning for another year, joining recreational classes, or continuing their journey with Academy, there is a place for them to grow.

πŸ‘‰ Log into your Parent Portal today to view the schedule and register!

And remember—if you're unsure about which classes to choose, please ask us! We're here to help you feel confident about your dancer's schedule.

This season represents so much more than a new schedule.

It's the beginning of a new way to recognize progress, celebrate accomplishments, build confidence, and help every dancer discover what they're capable of becoming.

We can't wait to welcome everyone back into the studio.

2026–2027 is going to be our best season yet. πŸ’™βœ¨

Growing Dancers. Building Leaders. Leaving a Legacy.™

The best is yet to come.

  • Introducing Legacy Journey at Pro Dance Academy

Introducing the Legacy Journey™ at Pro Dance Academy

Growing Dancers. Building Leaders. Leaving a Legacy.™

Something exciting is happening at Pro Dance Academy.

After months of dreaming, planning, and creating behind the scenes, we’re proud to introduce the Legacy Journey™—a new studio-wide experience designed to celebrate every dancer’s growth, not just as a dancer, but as a confident, kind, responsible, and inspiring young person.

A New Way to Think About Progress

Beginning with the 2026–2027 season, PDA is replacing traditional numbered class levels with a color-based progression system:

    Sea Glass → Ice → Teal → Ocean → Midnight → Silver → Legacy

Each color represents a different stage in a dancer’s development, taking into consideration technique, artistry, maturity, confidence, responsibility, experience, and overall growth.

And most importantly, dancers are not numbers and they are not ages.

Every dancer develops differently. Their color simply identifies the place where they can grow best next.

⭐ Growth Happens Along the Way

One of the most exciting parts of the Legacy Journey™ is our new three-star milestone system.

Within each color, dancers can earn:

    • ⭐ Star 1 — Building the Foundation: Learning the skills, vocabulary, expectations, and habits of their color.
    • ⭐⭐ Star 2 — Growing in Confidence & Consistency: Strengthening skills while developing greater independence and understanding.
    • ⭐⭐⭐ Star 3 — Preparing for What Comes Next: Demonstrating the technique, confidence, responsibility, and consistency needed for the next stage.

Stars allow us to celebrate the progress that happens between placements, rather than asking dancers to wait an entire year to feel recognized for their growth.

While stars may be earned throughout the season, colors will remain consistent until the end of the season so dancers can maintain a predictable schedule.

    πŸ’™ It Isn't a Race

The goal isn't to move through colors as quickly as possible.

The goal is to grow well.

One dancer may master a skill quickly while another needs more time. That doesn't make one journey better than the other. Every accomplishment matters—the new skill, the extra effort, the growing confidence, the ability to accept correction, the kindness shown to a teammate, and the courage to keep trying.

These are the moments that build dancers—and people.

🩰 Building the Dancer AND the Dance

For our Academy competition dancers, the Legacy Journey™ works alongside our competition program rather than replacing it.

    Color Classes = Technique Training
These classes focus on developing the dancer through targeted technique, skills, progressions, and individual growth.

    Choreography Classes = Competition Routines
These dedicated rehearsals focus on learning, cleaning, and performing competition routines.

Together, they allow dancers to spend intentional time both building the dancer and building the dance.

🀍 And Then There Is Legacy

Legacy is the highest color in the PDA journey, but it isn't a finish line.

By the time a dancer reaches Legacy, we hope they've developed much more than strong dance technique. We hope they've learned to work hard, persevere, accept correction, take responsibility, encourage others, lead with kindness, celebrate someone else's success, and keep going when things get difficult.

Because eventually, trophies get packed away. Costumes go into closets. Stages change.

But who you became along the way stays with you.

    That is your legacy.

A Journey Designed for Every Dancer

The Legacy Journey™ was created around one simple belief:

Every dancer deserves a place to grow.

Whether a dancer is taking their very first Sea Glass class or preparing to graduate from Legacy, their journey is valuable. Their progress matters. Their accomplishments deserve to be celebrated.

And while their path may look different from someone else's, that's exactly how it should be.

Because the Legacy Journey™ isn't ultimately about how far a dancer can go.

It's about who they become along the way.

We are incredibly excited to begin this new chapter with our PDA families and can't wait to see where the journey takes our dancers.

The best is yet to come. πŸ’™βœ¨

  • PDA Goes Viral on Instagram!

    PDA Went Viral! πŸŽ‰

If you noticed a few more notifications than usual on your phone this week... you're not alone.

Pro Dance Academy officially went viral on Instagram!

What started as a fun video quickly turned into something we never expected. Hundreds of thousands of people watched, liked, shared, and commented, with new viewers discovering PDA from all over the country (and even beyond!).

While the numbers are exciting, what means the most to us is why people connected with the video.

They saw dancers who genuinely love what they do.

They saw teammates supporting one another.

They saw the joy, confidence, and hard work that fills our studio every single day.

That's what Pro Dance Academy has always been about.

Social media can be unpredictable, but one thing isn't: when our dancers show up as themselves—with passion, kindness, determination, and a whole lot of personality—people notice.

    Going viral is exciting.

Building confident dancers and amazing humans is what we're most proud of.

If you found us through Instagram—welcome! We hope you'll come dance with us and experience the energy, friendships, and opportunities that make PDA feel like home.

Here's to making memories, inspiring others, and continuing to share the joy of dance—one post (and one class) at a time.

  • Meet Holland

As we extend a warm PDA welcome to Holland Barber, let's take a moment to get to know her!

Bio: I was born and raised in Mocksville, North Carolina. I have been dancing since the age of 8. I attended Davie County High school where I choreographed several dances for the Fall and Spring concerts and was a part of the dance team, the Dancing Boots, for all four years. I have trained in a number of styles, including ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary, and hip hop. I hold a degree in Popular Culture and Media Production with a minor in Dance from High Point University. I have participated in the Fall and Spring dance concerts at HPU where I performed ballet and contemporary pieces. I love to teach dancers of all ages and I'm so excited to share my knowledge and choreography with students at Pro Dance Academy!

We asked Holland a few questions about dance, here's what she had to say:

    • What is your absolute favorite song to dance to right now? 7/11 by Beyonce
    • If your dance style was an emoji, which one would it be? πŸ•Ί
    • What is the best piece of advice a dance teacher ever gave you? The best piece of advice a dance teacher has given me is to remember that I am enough. The tricks and kicks are not all that matters, but believing in yourself and having the confidence to showcase your abilities on stage is what matters most.
    • What are three must-have items inside your dance bag? hair ties, water bottle, and dance shoes
    • What was your favorite childhood movie or cartoon? High School Musical 3
    • If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what is it? Peanut Butter
    • What is a secret superpower or hidden talent you have outside of dancing? I can play the flute
    • Are you a morning person or a night owl? Morning person
    • What is your favorite Disney or movie soundtrack to choreograph to? Teen Beach Movie soundtrack
    • If you could turn any animal into a dancer, which animal would it be and what style would they do? I would turn a tiger into a dancer and they would do hip hop.
    • What are you most excited about for your very first day at Pro Dance Academy? I am most excited to teach what I love and build strong connections with the dancers so that they can express themselves and know that it is okay to make mistakes as long as they apply it and grow as a dancer.

Welcome to the studio, Holland! We're so excited you're here!
